8th September:Perth
We
arrived here about 11.00 am. It was slower than expected as I did
not have a decent map and mine had no names where I needed them. We
had to do a lap to find the caravan park. Thereare no handy little
blue signs saying Caravan Park either. I will write to the Perth
Visitors' Centre to complain!
Anyway we
got here on the second attempt, settled in and met the resident
ducks, Australian Shelducks and Purple Swamp Fowls who squark
constantly. We had to go shopping and I easily found our way to the
Caravan accessory place (we'd lost a plastic grill over the fridge
outlet) and then to Korronyup Shopping Centre which is very large.
(Groceries, medication and whisky! All the essentials! I also need
a couple of long sleeved T-shirts.) Lorraine and Murray Eilola
arrived this afternoon and are staying in a cabin. That's where
wehad drinkies and dinner -out of the wind!
It is
still very windy and apparently, roofs were blown off and trees
downed all over the place here. The storm was vicious and tonight
will be similar. We haven't put our awnings up as they lost a couple
here last night. I am over gusty winds and rain squalls!
Perth weather at its best it would seem! Sounds like "Brissy" friends are having a great get together :) ...enjoy yourselves. Have been enjoying some lovely Californian wines with dinner :) Take care and stay safe B and D
