July: Broome
This morning,I posted Hannah's parcel.
Apparently, it takes a long time for parcel's to reach here and
anywhere else from here. My glasses have finally arrived but the
letter from Kylie containing my Post discount card has not!
We investigated the Japanese cemetery
and then the Chinese cemetery. I will write about it on Wednesday
night. I am short of time now as we are going to Amanda's for
dinner. Jason is cooking roast pork – yummy! We tried to see the
dinosaur footprints at low tide at Gantheaume Point but the tide was
not low enough. They were still under water. However it was a
stunningly beautiful place. Photos on Wednesday night.
But I am posting this because tomorrow
morning we will go in the X-trail up to Cape Leveque. It is about
200 kms with only 87 kms of corrugations apparently but lots to see.
We are told it is truly beautiful. We are tenting overnight and we
will cheat and buy dinner.
Consequently, probably no blog. I
will write when we return.
Look forward with interest to your report on Cape Leveque. The road has certainly been upgraded if there are only now 87 km of dirt. Good travelling.
